our
mission
The SEIU New Jersey State Council (the Council) believes we are stronger together!
Our mission is to improve the quality of life of New Jersey’s working families by fighting for living wages, safe working conditions, and fair schedules.
We work diligently to promote health care for all, pensions, and the opportunity for advancement. Our goal is to win back the American Dream for thousands of hard-working members and their families. We use our collective power to build coalitions, advocate and hold elected officials accountable.
The Council is composed of unions representing service employees across the state, including health care, warehouse, laundry, and school cafeteria workers. Our diverse membership includes State of New Jersey Motor Vehicle inspectors, resident physicians in New Jersey’s top hospitals, and Newark municipal employees, the state’s largest city.
