“SEIU NJ State Council aims to elect leaders who will protect the interests of working families”
Newark, NJ — The SEIU New Jersey State Council—with a membership of over 20,000 members, representing nursing home workers, municipal service workers, motor vehicle inspection workers, resident physicians, and employees in the laundry, food service, and distribution industries—today, issued its full set of endorsements for the New Jersey General Assembly in the November 2025 election.
“SEIU NJ State Council members care for the most vulnerable residents, keep cities running, and are at the forefront of essential work performed throughout the state,” said Megan Chambers, President of the SEIU NJ State Council and Co-Manager of the LDFS Joint Board, Workers United SEIU. “We are eager to see these candidates elected and reelected to the state legislature where we will count on them to carry forward the fight for fairness for working people, immigrant families and essential workers.”
CHAMPIONS OF LABOR 2025
The SEIU NJ State Council especially recognizes fourteen “Champions of Labor,” who have consistently championed pro-worker policies and have shaped legislation that uplifts working families across New Jersey, including sponsoring legislation to ensure separation between state law enforcement and federal immigration enforcement, protecting hard-working immigrant communities and fostering trust with public agencies.
